EXAPEEL - REFINEMENT THROUGH MATERIAL ORDER

EXAPEEL

Precise finishing at BORBET through material removal

ExaPeel represents a division within BORBET's technologies that focuses on the targeted removal of material from the wheel surface. This innovative technology goes beyond various applications such as bright milling and creates a unique finish that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also guarantees the highest precision and quality.

GLOSSY TURNING
During bright turning, the surface is turned on a high-precision, computer-controlled CNC lathe using a diamond cutting insert so that it reflects the light and brings out the natural lustre of the metal. After machining, the wheels are sealed with clear lacquer.

SPOKE EDGE POLISHED
Decorative surfaces on wheels can be produced in brilliant quality using gloss milling, whereby the space between the spokes, the cover surface on the outside and the inner brake contour can also be used for design purposes. In contrast to polished wheels, deeper surfaces can also be emphasised in a striking way.

COLOURFUL TURNING
During colour turning, the basecoat is partially removed by turning the wheel - either as a ring segment or over the entire surface. After the coloured primer, this is covered again in black or grey if necessary and the basecoat is applied. The desired areas are exposed by mechanical over-turning and then sealed with clear lacquer.

LASERING ON GLOSSY TURNED SURFACES
A laser can be used to visualise lettering and logos on glossy surfaces. A very fine laser beam removes the base coat from the desired areas and exposes the primer. The wheels are then sealed with clear lacquer.

COLOUR LASER
A laser is used here to make ornaments and filigree patterns freely visible on the wheel. After a very fine laser beam has removed the base layer in the desired areas and exposed the coloured primer, the wheels are sealed with clear lacquer.
