LOW-PRESSURE CASTING

TRADITION AND INNOVATION: THE HISTORY OF LOW PRESSURE AT BORBET

Since 1977, BORBET has stood for tradition and pioneering technology in the production of aluminium rims. The Borbet brothers recognised the potential of low-pressure die-cast alloy wheels even back then and started production on behalf of customers. With a tireless spirit of innovation and a clear focus on quality, they laid the foundations for low-pressure casting at BORBET.

THE PROCEDURE

In the BORBET low-pressure casting process, molten aluminum is poured into special moulds to produce cast wheel blanks. This proven process produces high-quality wheels with excellent material properties. Casting times vary depending on the dimensions and are between 4 and 8 minutes per wheel.
Our standard production is designed for wheels up to 22 inches and in some cases even up to 24 inches.

SIMULATIONS I CASTING OPTIMIZATION

Our FEM simulations and casting optimization ensure the perfection of our wheels. NVH and aerodynamics are optimized using state-of-the-art programs, while casting simulations increase production efficiency. Specialist departments coordinate to identify potential problems at an early stage and minimize costs.
